Strabag SE is an Austria-based construction company. It divides its activities into three business segments. Building Construction and Civil Engineering is engaged in the construction of power plants, commercial, industrial and residential real estate, as well as bridge building and environmental technology. Transportation Infrastructures is engaged in the construction of concrete and asphalt roads, as well as works connected to road construction and the production of construction materials, such as asphalt, concrete and aggregates. Special Divisions and Concession covers the road, railroad tunnel, underground galleries and caverns construction, as well as ground engineering services, and property and facility management. The Company’s core brands are Strabag, Dywidag, Heilit+Woerner, Moebius and Zueblin. Its core markets are Austria and Germany. Through its subsidiaries it also operates in East and South-East Europe, in Arabic Peninsula, as well as in Canada, China and India.

BRIEF: For the nine months ended 30 September 2009, Strabag SE's total revenue increased 9% to EUR9.25B. Net income for the period decreased 11% to EUR102.7M. Total revenue reflects favourable market conditions as well as an increase in demand for the Company's products and services in the Road Construction and Tunnelling & Services business segments. Net income for the period was offset by higher personnel expenses and increased other operating expenses.
