Severn Trent Plc is engaged in the supply of water and the treatment and disposal of sewage. The Company is organized into two segments: Severn Trent Water and Severn Trent Services. Severn Trent Water is engaged in providing water and sewerage services to domestic and commercial customers in England and Wales. Severn Trent Services is engaged in providing services and products associated with water, waste water and contaminated land principally in the United States, United Kingdom and Europe. Severn Trent Water provides water and sewerage services to over 3.7 million households and businesses across the Midlands and mid Wales. Severn Trent Services has three principal business groups: water purification, operating services and analytical services. On May 13, 2009, the Company acquired PS Apliclor S.A., a small assembly and distribution business in Spain.
