TELUS Corporation (TELUS) is a telecommunications company, providing a range of telecommunications products and services. The Company is the incumbent telecommunications service provider in Western Canada and provides data, Internet protocol, voice and wireless services to Central and Eastern Canada. As of December 31, 2008, the Company’s principal subsidiary was wholly owned TELUS Communications Inc. (TCI). The Company’s segments are Wireline and Wireless. In January 2008, TELUS completed the acquisition of Emergis Inc. On January 29, 2008, TELUS also made a small acquisition of privately held Fastvibe Corporation, a provider of Web-streaming solutions. In September 2009, the Company acquired Black's Photo Corporation, an imaging and digital retailer based in Canada.
