Carso Global Telecom SA de CV is a Mexico-based holding company created after the division of Grupo Carso SA de CV, with the objective of segregating Grupo Carso's shareholdings in the Mexican telecommunications market. Through its subsidiaries, the Company is principally engaged in the provision of landline telephone services. As of December 31, 2008, the Company owned such subsidiaries as Telefonos de Mexico SAB de CV (Telmex), Telmex Internacional SAB de CV (Telmex Internacional), Empresas y Controles en Comunicaciones SA DE CV and Multimedia Corporativo, SA de CV. Additionally, the Company has operations established in the United States, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador.

BRIEF: For the nine months ended 30 September 2009, Carso Global Telecom S.A.'s total revenue increased 4% to PS154.37B. Net income for the period increased 9% to PS12.02B. Total revenue reflects an increase in demand for the Company's products and services. Net income benefited from significantly increased income from shares in associated companies as well as from a presence of gain on currency movements.
