Tele Norte Leste Partricipacoes SA (TNL) is a telecommunication service provider in Brazil. The Company offers a range of integrated telecommunications services that includes fixed-line and mobile telecommunications services, data transmission services (including broadband access services), Internet service provider (ISP) services and other services, for residential customers, small, medium and large companies, and governmental agencies. TNL operates under the brand name TNL PCS S.A. (Oi). In January 2009, the Company acquired the control of Brasil Telecom Participacoes SA, through its subsidiary Telemar Norte Leste SA.

BRIEF: For the nine months ended 30 September 2009, Tele Norte Leste Participacoes SA's total revenue increased 61% R$22.34B. Net loss for the period totaled R$70.9M, vs. a profit of R$1.08B.
