TomTom NV is a Netherlands-based company focused on the provision of portable navigation devices (PNDs). It has two divisions: TomTom, engaged in the sale of personal navigation devices, and Tele Atlas, which develops and sells geographic databases. The Company’s portfolio of products includes car navigation, comprising such product families as TomTom GO, TomTom XL and TomTom ONE; bike navigation, including TomTom RIDER, and software for use on personal digital assistants (PDAs) and smartphones, such as Navigator 6, among others. TomTom NV operates through it subsidiaries, including TomTom Inc, TomTom Asia Ltd, Phonetic Topographics NV, Tele Atlas GmbH, Tele Atlas Polska Sp. z o.o. and others.

BRIEF: For the nine months ended 30 September 2009, TomTom NV's total revenue decreased 22% to EUR946.3M. Net profit for the period decreased 73% EUR19.3M. Total revenue reflects decreased sales of PNDs in Europe and North America as well as lower sales in the TomTom PND business segment. Net profit for the period suffered from increased amortization charges as well as a loss from other finance results.
