United Utilities Group PLC (United Utilities), formerly United Utilities PLC, is engaged in water business. The Company owns and operates water and wastewater assets and also manages infrastructure for other businesses, predominantly within the United Kingdom. United Utilities is organized in two divisions, being regulated and non-regulated activities. The regulated activities segment includes the regulated results of United Utilities Water PLC (UUW). The non-regulated activities segment includes the Company’s utility outsourcing contracts in the United Kingdom and overseas. In addition, the other activities segment includes the results of United Utilities Property Solutions Limited, United Utilities Group PLC and other group holding companies.

BRIEF: For the fiscal year ended 31 March 2009, United Utilities Group PLC's revenues increased 3% to £2.43B. Net income from continuing operations decreased 57% to £180.6M. Revenues reflects the allowed price rise in the regulated business and the first year of the electricity distribution outsourcing contract in non regulated business. Net income was offset by higher employee benefit expenses and increased depreciation & amortisation expense.
