BRIEF: For the six months ended 27 August 2009, Whitbread plc's revenues increased 3% to £703.3M. Net income from continuing operations increased 81% to £73.6M. Revenues reflect an increase in income from Hotel & Restaurants and Costa segments due to increase in sales growth with eight new hotels and over 100 new costa stores. Net income also reflects increase in gross profit due to decrease in structural cost.
