Feb 14 - A gunman opened fire at Northern Illinois University, near Chicago killing 3 people, before killing himself. Two other students died at hospital.
Police said the gunman was a student from another college, but they did not publicly identify him. They said he shot himself on the same classroom stage from where the shooting began near the end of a mid-afternoon lecture.
