Three types of demonstrations are taking place in London, organised by different campaign groups. Anti-war protesters have been gathering outside the U.S. embassy with a message "yes we can".
A "Financial Fools Day" demonstration in London's financial districts is protesting against the economic situation, climate chaos and war. A third protest, "Fossil Fools Day" has been organised by environmental campaigners.
A branch of the RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland) bank had its windows smashed amid scuffles between protesters and the police close to the Bank of England in the city's financial district.
