Whale watchers delight in Australia

(00:42) Rough Cut

Jul 01 - Migaloo, the world's only known white Humpback Whale makes a triumphant return for whale-watchers off the coast of Queensland, Australia.

Migaloo was first spotted in 1991 passing Australia's most east point, Byron Bay.

Since then he has returned year after year on his annual migration north to warmer waters for mating season.

Fears for Migaloo's safety as he travelled through Japanese whale research areas were quelled when the humpback appeared with an unknown grey whale.

Migaloo is now in his twenties and marine biologists are hoping his new friend is female.
