Michelle Obama joins quake tour

Jul 09 - U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama goes with other G8 spouses to review the earthquake-devastated Italian town of L'Aquila, where heads of state and government are meeting.

As their husbands entered the second day of the G8 summit of leading economies held in military barracks in the nearby district of Coppito, Obama along with Britain's Sarah Brown and other first ladies, walked through the town centre, dotted with cranes and scaffoldings, past damaged buildings and structures.

The April 6 earthquake killed 300 people and flattened the medieval mountain town.
