Beckham snubs England for Galaxy

Nov 12 - Soccer star David Beckham withdraws from the England national squad for their friendly game against Brazil, committing to play for LA Galaxy in their successful playoff run.

Beckham helped Galaxy to a 1-0 semi-final second leg win over Chivas USA, booking them a place in the conference final against Houston Dynamo, which is scheduled for Friday (November 13).

Beckham reaffirmed his desire to play a major role in the England squad at the World Cup finals in South Africa next year.

He is set to return on loan to Italian team AC Milan in January.
