Thaksin tees off talk of comeback

(01:05) Rough Cut

Nov 13 - Fugitive former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra plays a round of golf with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, stoking concern in Bangkok that he may seek to regain power.

Demonstrating a better golf swing that his partner, Thaksin has created makeshift headquarters in a hotel-restaurant in Siem Reap, Cambodia, about 150km (90 miles) from Thailand.

The prospect of the billionaire -- who the Thai government considers a criminal -- running a political campaign from across the border rattled investors, sending Thai stock prices tumbling nearly 3 percent on concern of more instability in Southeast Asia's second-biggest economy.

Former telecoms billionaire, Thaksin was ousted in a military coup in 2006 and later convicted of breaching conflict-of-interest laws and sentenced in absentia to two years in prison.
