Nov. 15 - Funerals were held across the United States for some of the 13 victims of the Fort Hood shooting rampage.

Hundreds of people lined the street of an Illinois town to pay their respects to Private Michael Pearson.

The 22-year-old combat engineer was getting ready to leave for Afghanistan to become a bomb disposal specialist when he was gunned down by army psychiatrist, Major Nidal Malik Hasan.

In scenes played out across small town America, communities united in grief as some of the victims of the November 5th massacre were laid to rest.

Private First Class Aaron Nemelka's friends wept as they accompanied the 19-year-old's coffin on its final journey.

The teenager from West Jordan, Utah joined the army a little over a year ago, carrying on a family tradition.

He was due to go to Afghanistan in January.

Staff Sergeant Justin Decrow's widow never dreamed her husband was in any danger working at the Texas army base.

The 32-year-old was due to deploy to Iraq in the New Year.

Motorcyclists from the Indiana Patriot Guard escorted the white hearse carrying the father-of-one's coffin through his hometown of Plymouth.

The U.S. Army has charged Hasan with 13 counts of premeditated murder in the attack that also left 29 people wounded.

Prosecutors have yet to signal whether the 39-year-old, who is recovering from gunshot wounds in hospital, is to face the death penalty if convicted.
