May 22 - A car bomb ripped through a packed outdoor market in south-western Baghdad, killing 25 people and injuring 60 others.
The bomb damaged a medical center and other buildings in the Shiite-dominated neighborhood of Amil.
The neighborhood has seen an increase in violence in recent weeks, and Sunni politicians expressed fears in recent weeks that Amil was witnessing a resumption of sectarian cleansing by Shiite militiamen.
On Monday afternoon, a mortar round slammed into a house in Karradah neighborhood central Baghdad killing two people and wounding 5 others said police. The mortar attack caused damage to a house and nearby shops.
