(00:52) Report

Jun. 26 - Professional wrestler Chris Benoit was found dead along with his wife and son in what officials are calling a double murder-suicide.

Police are also investigating whether the use of steroids may have been a factor in the murders. Nicknamed ''The Rabid Wolverine'' and ''The Canadian Crippler,'' Benoit was one of the leading international stars of professional wrestling. The wrestler, his wife and son were discovered on Monday afternoon inside their home in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. Authorities say that Benoit strangled his wife, smothered his son, and then hanged himself.

Benoit's employer, World Wrestling Entertainment, said in a statement on its Web site that Benoit canceled two events over the weekend, citing an undisclosed family emergency. Benoit then sent what his employer called ''several curious text messages'' to friends which prompted authorities to check on Benoit and his family.
