Britons prepare for more floods

Jul 24 - As severe flood warnings remain in place, Oxford residents load up sand bags bracing themselves for the rising water levels.

Towns in Britain have been hit by the worst floods in decades, leaving thousands of homes in western England without running water, and more are on the way.

In the English university town of Oxford residents shovelled sand into bags, in anticipation of the river bursting its banks.

The water level of the Thames is expected to rise, and the Environment agency is placing flood warnings across central and southwestern England.
