Aug. 6 - Celebrations in Beirut after a Maronite Christian party claims victory in a key parliamentary by-election.
Christian opposition leader Michel Aoun said his candidate Camille Khoury closely beat opponent Amin Gemayel, a former president and a key member of the ruling coalition, in a by-election in the Metn district northeast of Beirut.
