EU ban on UK meat and dairy
Aug 6 - The European Union has banned all British exports of fresh meat, live animals and meat products until at least Wednesday.
It follows the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in the UK. EU veterinary experts will meet on Wednesday to review the measure. The outbreak of the disease has created another crisis for the new Prime Minister Gordon Brown as he deals with a worried public and angry farmers.
