Bush makes surprise Iraq visit
Sep. 3 - US President George Bush flew secretly to a heavily guarded desert base in western Iraq for meetings with the Iraqi President and top US officials.
The surprise visit comes ahead of a keenly awaited report on Iraq that will be presented to the US Congress next week. The report will be delivered by America's top commander, General David Petraeus and ambassador Ryan Crocker, and could be decisive in shaping US strategy in Iraq.
