Oct. 9 - Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan says all measures will be taken to defeat Kurdish separatists, including cross-border raids into Iraq.
But Turkey remains under heavy pressure from its NATO ally the United States not to send troops into northern Iraq, which is a bastion of stability compared to the rest of the country.
However, Turkish forces could pursue Kurdish rebels over the border in smaller, so-called "hot pursuit" operations without authorisation from parliament.
The decision follows a series of rebel attacks on security forces, the latest of which killed 15 soldiers at the weekend.
