Nov. 15 - Lahore tense as Pakistani President Musharraf clings to power.
The Pakistani city of Lahore was surrounded by hundreds of police personnel as the end to emergency rule was still unknown.
President Musharraf, once the poster boy for the war against terror, has escaped numerous assassinations. But since the declaration of emergency rule, he has received a lot of criticism from the international community.
Analysts say it might reach a point where one of his close allies might ask him to step down.
He has suspended the constitution, sacked most judges, locked up lawyers, rounded up thousands of opposition and rights activists and put curbs on the media.
Ordinary Pakistanis say they want to see fresh faces in politics. But for now, they have no idea what will happen in the nuclear-armed and military-threatened country.
Puja Bharwani reports.
