Sotheby's record sale
Nov. 15 - Sotheby's auctions of a Bacon canvas and a Jeff Koons' sculpture results in record sales.
The sales Wednesday night marked a big comeback for Sotheby's. The stock rose as much as 13 percent in the first hour of trading Thursday morning. Last week, it stock sank when bidders passed on a Van Gogh.
