Teddy row teacher is pardoned

(01:35) Report

Dec 3 - The UK teacher jailed in Sudan for letting her students name a teddy bear Mohammad is freed early from prison.

Gillian Gibbons was sentenced on Thursday (Nov. 29) to 15 days in jail for insulting Islam.

The decision to free her early follows an appeal by two prominent British Muslims to Sudan's president.

The news sparked fresh demonstrations outside the British embassy in Khartoum where on Friday protesters called for the teacher's death.
