Dec. 16 - A Pakistani-British man suspected of being part of an alleged plot to blow up transatlantic flights has escaped from custody in Pakistan
Rashid Rauf escaped on Saturday (Dec. 15) from outside an Islamabad court where police had escorted him for an extradition hearing. He's wanted in the UK by police officers investigating the 2002 murder of his uncle. U.S. and British security forces believe Rauf was a key figure in a 2006 plot to bomb airline flights from London to the U.S. However, terror charges laid against him in Pakistan were dropped last month.
Helen Long reports.
