Jan. 12 - On December 27th, Kenyans went to the polls to elect a new president.

The election of Mwai Kibaki led to violence across a country which is not used to such attacks.

Aid agencies said more than a quarter of a million Kenyans were forced to abandon their homes after days of attacks by mobs on the rampage.

People were forced to flee their homes as mobs burnt houses and destroyed crops.

Reuters Television went to Kenya and sends us this report.
