Jan. 23 - Iraqi security forces hunting al Qaeda fighters near the Iraqi city of Baquba have found the bodies of seven members of the same family.
The victims appear to have been tortured and executed in an orchard. Police said the bodies were those of a father, his five sons and a nephew.
Diyala province, of which Baquba is the capital, has replaced western Anbar as one of the most violent areas of Iraq after Sunni Islamist al Qaeda was driven out of Anbar and the Baghdad area during security crackdowns last year.
Sonia Legg reports.
