Some EU members recognise Kosovo

Feb. 18 - European countries including France and Britain recognise Kosovo, ending hours of suspence for Kosovan Prime Minister Thaci.

Most European Union members are ready to recognise Kosovo, although Spain said it would not. U.S. President George W. Bush also acknowledged the independence of the Kosovan people, a day after the majority Albanian territory declared independence from Serbia.
