Global split over Kosovo
Feb. 19 - The world remains divided over Kosovo's declaration of independence and top level negotiations are underway to try and solve the crisis.
President Bush has recognised the independence of Kosovo from Serbia and said it would bring peace to the Balkans. But Serbia has recalled its ambassador from Washington in protest. Russia and China also strongly oppose independence.
