Serbia asked to protect embassies

(01:42) Report

Feb. 22 - The European Union and the United States have called on Serbia to do all it can to protect foreign embassies.

This comes after Serbian rioters opposed to foreign recognition of Kosovo's independence stormed the U.S. embassy in Belgrade and vandalised other embassies. The Serbian President has appealed for calm, but Serbia says the attacks were the work of extremists and do not represent Serbs' feelings over the secession of Kosovo.

Joanna Partridge reports.
