Seven hour space walk

(01:53) Report

Mar. 14 - Two U.S. Space Shuttle astronauts have been preparing a section of Japan's elaborate research laboratory from the outside.

Four-time flier Richard Linnehan and his rookie partner, Garrett Reisman, left the International Space station's airlock at 0118 GMT for the first of five space walks planned during shuttle Endeavour's 16-day mission.

They returned to the hatch seven hours and one minute later.
