Missing Maddie - tabloids say sorry

(02:03) Report

Mar 19 - Two British tabloid newspapers have made unprecedented front page apologies to the parents of missing girl Madeleine McCann.

The Daily Star and Daily Express suggested they might have killed their daughter and covered up her death.

They admitted the allegations against Kate and Gerry McCann, whose daughter went missing on holiday in Portugal last May, were "baseless" and agreed in court to pay 550,000 pounds ($1.1 million) in libel damages.

Madeleine's disappearance prompted intense international media coverage.
