The Iraq war five years on
Mar 19 - President Bush says the US is on track for victory in Iraq.
Bush said increased US troop levels in Iraq - the so-called surge - had brought undeniable improvements . The President touted advances against al-Qaeda fighters in Iraq and pointed to sharply fewer deaths among US troops and civilians - but he said that progress need to be reinforced.
