China under new pressure over Tibet

(01:32) Report

Mar. 25 - The French President has urged China to show responsibility over Tibet and has refused to rule out boycotting the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.

Nicolas Sarkozy's comments came after police in Nepal police baton-charged anti-China demonstrators and detained dozens of protesters. Kathmandu has been the scene of almost daily anti-China protests since March 10, the 49th anniversary of a failed uprising against Chinese rule.

Sonia Legg reports.
