Rice backs Sadr isolation bid

Apr 20 - U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice throws her weight behind the Iraqi government in its anti-militia crackdown.

Rice arrived in Baghdad a day after Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr threatened open warfare against the U.S-backed Iraqi government unless it halted operations against his Mehdi Army militia.
