Hu Jintao visits Sichuan province
May 16 - Chinese president Hu Jintao toured the hard-hit Sichuan province where rescue workers continue to pick through the rubble for survivors of the worst earthquake to hit China.
The country struggled to bury its dead and help tens of thousands of injured and homeless when a powerful aftershock measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale wreaked fresh havoc.
