Peace talks with Israel and Syria
May 21 - Israel's Prime Minister Ehud Olmert steps to the podium to deliver what he called exciting news: Israel and Syria are in peace talks
This is the first time these long bitter enemies have come to the table in eight years. A coordinated statement also issued from Syria confirmed the open dialogue being held in Istanbul and mediated by Turkey.
