Iran says it won't stop nuclear work

(01:58) Report

Jun. 14 - Major powers have failed in their latest effort to end the nuclear crisis with Iran.

In Tehran, the European Union's top diplomat, Foreign Policy boss Javier Solana, offered trade and other benefits to try to coax Iran into suspending sensitive nuclear work.

But his updated package of proposals got short shrift from Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki. U.S. President George W. Bush says he is 'disappointed'.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy says it looks as if a new round of UN sanctions are on the cards.
