(01:19) Report

Jul. 8 - Washington and Prague sign an deal to build a key piece of a U.S. missile defense shield in the Czech Republic as activists protest the move.

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg signed the accord in Prague. The deal is to host a U.S. tracking radar south-west of Prague as part of a system to protect against the perceived threat of missile attack from countries such as Iran.

The deal's been done over the staunch opposition of Russia and, according to opinion polls, most Czechs.

Susan Flory reports.
