Freddie sees deeper housing slump

Aug. 6 - Freddie Mac, America's No. 2 home loan financing company, posted an $821 million quarterly loss, which offered little hope the housing slump is turning the corner.

High gasoline prices may put the breaks on increases in auto insurance premiums. Gasoline demand dropped more than 2 percent over the past four weeks - U.S. Dept. of Energy.
