Beijing smog watch: 15 August

Aug 15 - Olympic host city Beijing woke up to a clear, cool morning on Friday (August 15), the seventh day of the Games, marking the start of the track and field events.

Beijing will be mostly sunny with light winds, city weather forecasters said, predicting a maximum temperature of about 31 degrees Celsius (88 degrees Fahrenheit).

The host city saw heavy rain on Thursday (August 14), forcing a string of outdoor sports, including tennis and rowing, to reschedule.
