Georgian forest burns: Russia blamed

(01:08) Report

Aug. 20 - Georgia has accused Russia of deliberately starting fires in its UNESCO world heritage national park.

A forest fire in Georgia's Borjomi forest has been burning since Friday. The nature reserve is regarded by Georgians as a national treasure. Georgia's Interior Ministry has said Russian helicopter gunships swooped over a region near the Borjomi-Kharagauli national park in central Georgia on Friday and dropped bombs that set fire to the densely forested hills.

Russia's Defence Ministry has denied any involvement.
