London 2012 will have work cut out

The organisers of the 2012 London Olympics said they will not aim to beat the scale of the Beijing Games.

Promoters of the London Olympics say all Games are different and Britain's medal performance in Beijing will inspire the country for 2012.

Britain has had its most successful Olympic run in 100 years and is currently third place in the medals table.

Beijing will pass the Olympic flag to London at the closing ceremony.SOUNDBITES:
