Carnival fever in London

Aug 25 - Samba dancers and steel drummers entertain thousands at the Notting Hill Carnival.

Around 750, 000 people came to watch the colourful floats and processions that make up the Notting Hill Carnival.

Due to it attracting thousands of revellers, the event has been named the second largest street festival following in the footsteps of the Rio de Janeiro carnival in Brazil.

The event has been running for more than 40 years, and takes place on the bank holiday weekend in August. It was set up to celebrate Caribbean culture in London.
