US prepares for Anbar handover
Aug 27 - US says it will be able to hand over security in Anbar province to the Iraqis in the coming days.
The heartland of the Sunni Arab insurgency against the U.S. military and successive Shi'ite-led Iraqi governments, Anbar was once a haven for al Qaeda fighters.
