Hurricane weaker after hitting Cuba
Aug. 31 - The storm has left a trail of destruction in its wake as it heads on towards the U.S.
Hurricane Gustav was downgraded to a dangerous Category three on the five-stage Saffir-Simpson scale of intensity but is expected to gather strength again over the Gulf of Mexico.
