Oct 1 - Optimism about a new U.S. financial bailout package outweighed a weak Japanese business survey Wednesday, lifting most Asian share markets.
Hopes a new rescue plan will pass Congress this week and a Wall Street rally lifted even Japan's Nikkei, which digested the worst business confidence in five years.
