Oct 8 - The UK's Gordon Brown has detailed a rescue plan to inject 50 billion pounds of emergency money into the country's banks in the midst of the global financial crisis.

UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown has unveiled a 50 billion pound rescue plan to help shore up banks in the grip of the global financial crisis.

After frantic overnight talks, Finance Minster Alistair Darling rushed out measures on Wednesday (October 8) saying it would help boost lending and restore confidence.
