Space tourist blasts off

Oct. 12 - U.S. video game magnate Richard Garriott blasts into space on board a Russian rocket.

The Russian Soyuz TMA-13 spacecraft lifted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on the Kazakh.

Richard Garriott's father, a former NASA astronaut was there to wave his son off.

Garriott will spend 10 days in space, returning to earth in a Soyuz re-entry vehicle. The vehicle has had problems on its last two flights, forcing it to make a 'ballistic' landing.
